Visiting Furleigh Estate

What are your opening hours?

Please see our Find Us page for latest information on opening hours. We are open more days in the summer than over the winter.
During opening hours you can buy wine from our cellar door shop and / or enjoy a tasting (no need to book).
Our tours generally run from Easter to harvest, on selected weekdays and Saturdays.

How do I find you?

Situated in the South West corner of Dorset, Furleigh Estate is 15 miles west of Dorchester, 10 miles south of Crewkerne, 15 miles east of Honiton and just 5 miles from the coast.
We are just off the B3162, north of the village of Salway Ash.  Go over the cattle grid and down the track until you get to our tasting room.
See our Find Us page for more detailed directions.

Can I bring my dog?

Furleigh is a working farm with sheep and lambs around and machinery often in action. It can be quite a dangerous place for dogs.  However well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in our shop and when accompanying their owners on tours or while tasting our wine.
Note however that under no circumstances will dogs be allowed in our winery.

Are children welcome?

Our tours and tastings are not suitable for children.
Well-behaved children may accompany parents visiting to make or collect purchases but not on tours or tastings.

Can I taste your wines if I just drop in?

We offer tastings of our three wines of the day (two still and one sparkling) during our normal opening hours.
We charge £5 per person for tastings.  Please note that if you arrive at the same time as a tour is about to start there may be a short delay before we can serve your tasting.  The tasting amount is roughly 40ml of each wine.

Do you serve food?

No, we don’t serve food other than as part of specific events.

Can we bring a picnic?

We don’t allow picnics, sorry.

Is your site accessible?

We have car parking close to the shop and step free access is possible by approaching the store from the rear of the building. Please contact us in advance if you have any special requirements or would like assistance with carrying an order to your car.
Our tours require a short walk across uneven ground and may not be suitable for people with additional accessibility requirements, but please get in touch if you have any specific questions.
Our customer WC is accessible.

Is your Tasting Room available for private hire?

Our Tasting Room does not have a kitchen and there is only one loo.  If this doesn’t bother you, then call us on 01308 488991 for information on private hire or email info@furleighestate.co.uk

Do you have room for coaches?

No!  Do not bring a big coach down to Furleigh as it will get stuck and may be damaged.  Small coaches of up to around 20 seats are fine but no bigger please.

What Covid-19 precautions are you taking?

We no longer have specific Covid-19 precautions in place, although guests may choose to wear masks and we have hand sanitiser in the shop.
